Five Of The Worst Serial Killers To Walk This Earth

The world has seen a lot of serial killers throughout history but some of them are so bizarre and so gruesome that it leaves you questioning if humanity really deserves to rule the planet. Here are some of the most horrific ones that gave me chills:

1) Jeffery Dahmer (1960-1994)

First on this list is an American serial killer who murdered 17 men mainly targeting African-Americans at gay bars. The brutal nature of his murders makes me nauseous; he dismembered his first victim, sealing his body parts in plastic bags and burying them in his parent’s home. Later he came back to it, crushed the bones with a sledgehammer and scattered the remains across a ravine. He continued to perform bizarre rituals on different victims ranging from drilling holes in their skulls and injecting them with acid while they were still alive, lobotomies and consuming flesh. Normal stuff right? His cell mate in jail struck him with a metal bar from the prison weight room ending his life.

2) Amelia Dyer (1887-1896)

Called one of the most prolific murders in British history, second on my list is Amelia Dyer. Originally a nurse, she became a ‘baby farmer’ which was a lucrative trade in that era. For some money, these baby farmers would adopt unwanted kids and promised to provide loving and caring homes for the babies, which was far from the truth. She has several aliases to cover her tracks. At first she let the babies die of starvation, giving them an opium syrup to keep them quiet but gradually she became greedier and just started to murder them using faster means. Eventually a dead baby was found in a parcel that had her address leading to a raid during which it was discovered that she had killed about 200-400 babies. The house reeked of rotting human flesh. She tried to plead not guilty for insanity however jury saw right through her and she was hanged to death.

3) Charles Davis (1947)

Also called the ‘Maryland serial killer’, Charles was an ambulance driver. He would stalk women, finding out their number plates which he would send to his father who worked as a police officer. After obtaining the name, he would send them a page saying the lights on their car were left on. When they came to check them, he would abduct them and proceed to strangle them. What makes this case even more bizarre is that he would leave the bodies in places along his ambulance route so when someone called to report the body, he would be the one to find it. He was only caught because he used one of the victim’s credit card.

4) Karl Denke (1860-1924)

Denke was the owner of a popular market stall in Germany that sold delicious meats. A beggar once claimed that Denke tried to kill him with an axe. The police didn’t believe him at first because Denke was seen as a good man but then they made the arrest. He hung himself in prison when he heard that the police will raid his house. What they found was not only to find the most gruesome crime scene but downright horrifying with pots full of human flesh, human bones on display, belts made from human skin and human fat jars labeled with cooking oil tags. The police connected the two things together and realized that the popular meat stall was actually human flesh (I felt like puking after this one too ngl).

5) Edward Gein (1906-1984)

Gein was another cannibal but his killing spree lasted for seven long years. At first he used to dig up graves and utilize corpses to satisfy his obsession with the female anatomy. He was also obsessed with performing Nazi experiments. After an investigation was conducted, his crimes came to light and blew everyone away. His house was filled with human body parts which he used instead of day-to-day items like a bowl made from a human skull and upholstery made of human skin. They also found a human heart in a pot on the stove as well as clippings of the disappearances. Later he was caught and institutionalized where doctors tried to figure out what caused these murderous impulses.

All these serial killers have committed horrific and heinous crimes that makes us sick to our stomachs but the only way to prevent serial killers in the future is to reach deep into their minds and unravel the psychological mysteries and thought processes behind their actions.
