We’ve talked about artists, musicians, food and TV shows but we haven’t talked about something that’s way more important: NGOs! Here is a list of the NGOs I know about and who have and are working to give back to the community.

1) Mask Drive Pk
Mask Drive is an NGO that was started among this pandemic. It is a youth led organization aimed at spreading awareness about Corona virus. Many people in Pakistan don’t even believe the virus even exists so in turn they don’t take the precautions hence not only harm themselves but everyone around them. Mask Drive educates such people on the importance of the situation and give people masks who may not have the money to afford one. They have done several drives in Lahore, Ayubia, Sahiwal, Karachi, Jhang, Islamabad etc. Please donate to their cause, the link is give below.

2) Eco Dosti
Another student led organization that is aimed at helping the environment. In their own words, “ECO-DOSTI is a student-led initiative with the purpose of shedding light on the plethora of aspects threatening our natural environment, while advocating for its betterment.” They have different teams for pollution, sustainable living, tree plantation and recycling. Using informative and interactive videos and posts, they’re trying to make people aware of just how much harm we’re causing and what do we need to do to start re-building our planet. To find out more and help spread the word, check out their account and share.

3) Isehaat
A brilliant NGO working hard to help people who are under-privileged. Isehaat provides food rations to people who are unable to afford the basic human commodity: food. But that’s not all, providing food once does not make as big of a difference as creating a sustainable source of income. Isehaat provides jobless people a way to earn by buying them carts along with fruits and vegetables so that they can start earning for themselves and their families. On top of that, they are helping young kids by providing them with the material they need to get education. Please donate to the cause and if you can’t donate then become a volunteer and if you can’t do that then share to make more people aware.

4) The Paw Print Pakistan
Their own introduction beats any words that I can say about them so first watch this: https://www.instagram.com/p/CDhUvOrFC3T/
If this didn’t touch your heart then I don’t know what will. There are so many home-less animals that are abused and mis-treated every single day. Just because they can’t speak for themselves does not mean they don’t have rights. These two girls are rescuing these strays, giving them love, food and medication but they can’t do it alone. If you want a dog, please adopt one. It will cost you nothing and you get to save a life.

5) Happy Little Family
This Non-profit helps those children who have lost their loved ones at an early age in their lives. They hosted events (pre-pandemic) just to bring joy to these kids who’re going through so much as such a young age, we can’t bring back their loved ones but we can help in trying to bring happiness and love into their lives. Not only this, they have done ration drives and mask distribution during the Corona outbreak. Their latest project is the water cooler project, they need funds so if you can donate, please do so. For more details check out their account.
There are countless other NGOs that working hard and trying to make this world and this country a better place. Even if you can’t afford to donate, there are several other ways to help. During these difficult times, we need to stand together and life each other up.
