With the growth of YouTube in Pakistan, came a rapid rise in creators or now known as, influencers. It is impossible to forget all of the desis who paved the path for Pakistanis to use YouTube as a platform for video making, vlogging etc. Being a YouTube addict, I have watched an unhealthy amount of videos on the site so I wanted to list a few of my favourite young youtubers who have been working very hard to entertain our bored souls (let’s just hope that YouTube doesn’t get banned *insert eye rolling emoji*).
I will be listing five of my personal favourite vloggers and if you haven’t subscribed to them, you really should (no they haven’t sponsored us to say nice things about them).
YOUTUBER NO. 1 : HAYA ZAMIN
This 21 year old, living in Belgium isn’t a “Pakistani Vlogger” per se. However, while I discuss all the under rated desis making it on YouTube, it is impossible to forget this hilarious (and incredibly awkward) girl. I think the best thing about her is that in all her vlogs, she’s her authentic self and isn’t just doing it for the clout (like a lot of youtubers, won’t name any *winks*). She shows us different angles of her personality, but each one of them is a hundred percent human, making her relatable AF. Haya’s ‘thumbs ups’ and peace signs somehow make her videos even cuter than they are. Not only is she entertaining, but she also shows us the lives of Pakistanis who live abroad which helps viewers like me picture what it would be like to live somewhere abroad.
I just hope that she’d make us wait less to see her in action!

YOUTUBER NO. 2 : ALINA HAYYAT
While Haya Zamin might be a Pakistani living in Belgium, Alina Hayyat is a Kiwi (natives of New Zealand) living in Pakistan. Even though most of her videos are her sitting in front of the camera and speaking about random things, her interesting stories and sense of humor provide us with high quality entertainment. Whether it’s her eating paan for the first time or driving around Karachi looking for Bun Kebabs, we can’t help but be humored by the unlimited quantity of her Burger pan. So, if you want to see a desi struggling to cope in ‘desi land’ and find joy in their misery, then you better check out her channel.

YOUTUBER NO. 3 : MOMINA MUNIR
Next, we have another Karachiite who makes videos that are the epitome of ‘chill’; the one and only, Momina Munir. The way she talks in her videos is the perfect definition of the phrase “I don’t give a f***” and personally, I live for it. Whenever I watch her videos, my brain says and I quote “haha, mooooood”. Her persistent and repetitive ‘yaars’ very conveniently give even more joy to viewers like me. All in all, I absolutely love her videos so you should definitely subscribe to her channel!

YOUTUBER NO.4: MUSTAFA BABAR
This young desi at number 4 provides us with a different genre of content which isn’t that common among Pakistani youtubers. I love his prank ideas especially the video in which he wears a brown wig to his college for the entire day. He’s growing and making better and better content everyday and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that not only are his videos A LOT of fun to watch, but I’ve laughed at them several times even when I’m having a bad day. So if you’re looking for a good laugh I’d recommend watching his videos.
(Also, looking for cute boys that are nice to look at? Yes, looking him up is the first thing you have to do. *winkwink*)

YOUTUBER NO. 5: HUMZA AMIN
This final YouTuber on my list is someone who’s particularly inspiring for medical students wanting to make use of their inner creativity. His humor isn’t something I personally laugh out loud at (my sense of humor sucks), however, Humza’s videos are an important source of weekly/monthly entertainment for me. Whether it’s his handcuffing video or his food tasting challenges, he keeps you interested throughout the entire video which is a lot considering I have the attention span of a goldfish.

There are many more young people working really hard on YouTube and these are just a few of them that I really like to watch. Let’s all support our local artists and creators who are working their butts off to make it in this industry because it’s definitely not as easy as it looks from the outside.
