After a lot of #savelucifer hash tags and petitions, Netflix decided to take Lucifer and renew it for a season five. The wait is finally over because season five is here with all the celestial drama you would ever need in life. Premiered on August 21st, this is only part one of season five with eight episodes in total. *SPOILER ALERT*
The Villain
This season features Lucifer’s twin brother Michel who’s more of a stereotypical version of a devil. Jealous of Lucifer his entire life, he comes to earth to wreck havoc on his life here. Ranging from pretending to be Lucifer to kidnapping Chloe, to telling her she’s a gift from God made for Lucifer to telling Maze about her mom to showing Dan Lucifer’s actual face, he does it all.

Will They or Won’t They?
The season though starting off with Lucifer in hell, he soon comes back to earth. What does this mean for Lucifer and Chloe? Well their romance is on again and off again with Chloe needing space initially until Amenadial making her realize that Lucifer chose to be vulnerable around her. This leads to some really cute and steamy scenes which make you swoon inside. However the 8th episode ends with Chloe unsure if Lucifer feels the same way back. She confronts Lucifer asking him why he hasn’t told her he loved her. Just as he is about to say I love you, time freezes. Jeez would it kill them to give us a little more?
The Cliffhanger
Part one of season five ends with a banger fight. Michel manages to convince Maze to join his side so when Amenadial accidentally stops time, its Maze and Michel VS Amenadial and Lucifer in a good old fashioned fist fight at the precinct. While there’s no obvious winner, the fight comes to a hault when they hear a voice…dun dun dun….it’s God himself. Yes, you heard that right, God has come to earth to stop his children from murdering each other. It will be really interesting to see how that comes into play in part two of the season.

Should I watch it?
I would definitely recommend watching this season, I like it more than the previous one. It showcases a lot of new characters, a ton of drama, serial killers, demons and of course baby Charlie as well. While we get to sink our teeth into the cases, this season focuses a lot on the characters and their stories which creates a well-balanced bunch of episodes. Netflix has already renewed it for another season so if you don’t believe me, believe the people, this show is a must watch!
